Coach Taylor and his varsity boy's team had a season for the ages in 2022-2023 with an overall record of 36-1. They won their third straight conference title and conference tournament, while only dropping one conference game of any kind in that 3 year span. They also won their second straight AAAA North Regional Tournament and Mountain Home Christmas Tournament. The last two seasons they have accumulated a record of 68-3. The Cardinals only loss this season came in the AAAA state semi-finals to the host school and then #1 overall ranked team in the state, Blytheville. It was the Cardinals third trip to the state semi-finals in program history. 

Many cardinals obtained individual accolades this season. Senior Sam Wells was named to the 4A 1 All Conference Defensive Team. Senior Caleb Blakely was All-State Honorable Mention and 4A 1 All Conference. Senior Josh Blakely was 4A 1 All Conference. Junior Jaxon Berry was selected All State and 4A 1 All Conference. Junior Layne Taylor continued his historic tear through the record books being named All State, 4A 1 Conference Player of the Year, All State Tournament, and 1st Team Arkansas Democrat Gazette All-Arkansas Preps. Coach Taylor brought home hardware him self by being named 4A 1 Conference Coach of the Year for the 2nd straight season. 

The varsity cardinals were not the only boys team to find success this year. The Jr High team won the NWRV 5A/6A regular season and conference tournament titles. Their combined 7th, 8th, and 9th grade records were 55-10. The future looks bright for the cardinals!
