Last Friday the Farmington Cardinals defied the odds with a 25 point comeback to defeat Harrison in the first AAAAA West game of the season. The Goblins (3-1, 0-1) started off hot, jumping out to a 14 point lead before Vanzant threw for a touchdown to make it 7-14. Harrison scored once again to finish the 1st quarter with a score of 21-7 Goblins. The 2nd quarter was much of the same as Harrison scored yet another touchdown to make it 28-7. A Harrison blocked punt by Clevinger led the Cardinals (4-0, 1-0) to score a field goal to make the score 28-10. But, Harrison scored yet another touchdown to finish the 1st half with a score of 35-10, Harrison.

The 2nd half was all Farmington as the only scoring of the 3rd quarter was a 64 yard touchdown pass from Vanzant to Funk to finish the 3rd quarter 35-17, Harrison up. The 4th quarter started off with another blocked punt by Clevinger which led to another Farmington touchdown, this time Vanzant connecting with Logue to make the score 35-24 Harrison. With around 4 minutes left in the game, Harrison fumbled the football which was recovered for a touchdown by Ralston. An unsuccessful 2 point conversion kept the score at 35-30. But it wasn’t over yet as Harrison fumbled yet again, this time recovered by Stettmeier with only 1:39 left. The Cardinals scored again on a Vanzant connection to Logue to give the Cardinals their first lead of the night. Another unsuccessful 2 point conversion left the score 36-35 Farmington. With less than a minute left, Harrison threw an interception to McCumber which sealed the game as Farmington prevailed 36-35.

Farmington remains undefeated at 4-0 this season with another conference matchup this week at Cardinal Stadium vs Vilonia who is also 4-0.
