Farmington Public Schools is proud to announce outstanding student growth results from our recent partnership with BookNook. During the Spring 2025 semester, 2nd and 3rd grade students at Williams and Folsom Elementary participating in high-impact tutoring (HIT) during the school day achieved exceptional outcomes:
103% average growth in reading and math
257 Quantile gain in math in just four months
230 Lexile gain in reading, nearly double the national expectation
94% student attendance in tutoring sessions
These results reflect the dedication of our elementary teachers, staff, and school leaders, whose commitment to integrating tutoring into the instructional day ensured strong participation and alignment with classroom learning. "This recognition demonstrates what happens when dedicated teachers and the proper support come together. Our students are proving every day that they can rise to any challenge," said Superintendent Jon Laffoon.
"A huge THANK YOU to our elementary teachers, staff, and leaders for making this happen, and to BookNook for being a responsive partner to our kids. Farmington is proud to be recognized as a Champion Spotlight District- but the real champions are our students and staff. We value our collaborative partnership with BookNook, whose responsiveness and program refinements helped make this initiative a success for Farmington students. We also appreciate the Department of Education and Governor Sanders' LEARNS Act for making the HIT Grant available for our students," added Laffoon.
