The Farmington hall of Honor Committee is proud to announce the induction of Bill Cooper, FHS Class of 1975, into the Farmington Hall of Honor.
A distinguished student and athlete, Cooper graduated as co-valedictorian of his class while serving as class president. He excelled in multiple sports during his time at Farmington High School, earning All-District recognition in 1973 and 1974, and All-State honors in football in 1974. Bill was a key contributor during both Farmington's state title football campaigns in 1972 and 1973. He was a three-year letterman in track and basketball (1972–1974) and capped his high school athletic career with the honor of competing in the 1975 Arkansas High School All-Star Football Game.
Cooper continued his education and athletic career at Abilene Christian University, where he was a four-year member of the Wildcats football program. As part of the 1977 team, he contributed to Abilene Christian’s NAIA National Championship.
Following his collegiate career, Cooper established himself professionally as a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Texas. His personal life is equally distinguished; he and his wife, Cindy, have shared 44 years of marriage and are the proud parents of three children and grandparents to five grandchildren.
Bill Cooper’s record of academic achievement, athletic excellence, professional success, and family dedication exemplifies the values celebrated by the Farmington Hall of Honor.

Lauren Williams left a lasting mark on Farmington athletics as a four-year starter for the Lady Cardinals basketball team from 2002–2006. During her remarkable high school career, she helped guide the program to an overall record of 115–14, four consecutive state tournament appearances, two state final berths, and a state championship title.
As a freshman, Williams made an immediate impact, earning Newcomer of the Year honors and a spot on the All-State Tournament Team while helping Farmington reach the 2003 AAA State Finals with a 28–5 record.
Her sophomore season proved historic, as she helped lead the Lady Cardinals to the 2004 AAA State Championship and a 32–1 record. That year, she earned recognition on the All-Arkansas Sophomore Team, All-Area Girls Team, the KURM Dream Team, and the All-State Team, while averaging 10 points, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds per game.
Williams continued to shine as a junior, guiding Farmington to a 29–2 record and a state semifinal appearance. She averaged 19 points, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds per game while collecting a long list of individual accolades, including All-State honors and Player of the Year awards from the Northwest Arkansas Times, The Morning News, and the KURM Dream Team.
Her senior campaign cemented her place among Farmington’s all-time greats. Williams averaged 21 points, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds per game while leading her team to Conference, District, and Regional titles before another state semifinal finish. She was named All-Conference, All-State, and Player of the Year, and was also recognized as a McDonald’s All-American Nominee.
Following her standout prep career, Williams continued playing basketball at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville.
Today, Lauren remains deeply connected to the Farmington community. She and her husband, Tyler Williams, are raising their three children—Jaxon, Ashur, and LeahKate—who all attend Farmington Public Schools.

Oxford’s record of achievement in athletics, leadership, and community service has made him an enduring role model for students and families alike. As a student, he was a member of the Society of Distinguished High School Students, a recipient of the Farmington FFA Star Greenhand Award (1982) and FFA Chapter Farmer Award (1986), and a four-year letterman in basketball. In 1986, he was named to the All-District Team, selected for the FCA All-Star Team, and honored as a Washington County 4-H Hall of Fame inductee. He went on to play basketball at North Arkansas Community College (1986–1988), becoming one of the first Farmington athletes to earn a college basketball scholarship.
Oxford’s contributions extended far beyond the playing court. From 2002 to 2021, he served on the Farmington School Board, including nine years as president. Under his leadership, the district completed significant projects that have shaped the future of Farmington Schools, including Folsom Elementary, McCuistion Performing Arts Center, the new Farmington High School, Cardinal Stadium, and Cardinal Arena.
In addition, Oxford has given over a decade of service as the voice of Farmington football and basketball broadcasts (2011–present), where his dedication and enthusiasm have brought the excitement of Cardinal athletics into the homes of countless families.
“Jeff Oxford embodies the spirit of Farmington,” said Beau Thompson, Farmington Athletic Director and Hall of Honor Committee Chair. “His achievements as a student, athlete, leader, and community servant represent the very best of our school district and serve as an inspiration for future generations.”
Oxford and his wife, Ree, have been married for 32 years. Together they have raised four children—all graduates of Farmington High School: Anna, Barrett, Flint, and Claudia. They are also the proud grandparents of three.
The Farmington Hall of Honor induction stands as a tribute to Oxford’s lifelong commitment to excellence and his enduring legacy within the Farmington community.

Among this year’s honorees is Madison Lewis (Barnes), one of the most decorated softball athletes in Farmington High School history. A 2012 graduate, Lewis starred on both the softball field and the golf course during her Cardinal career.
From 2009–2012, she was a dominant pitcher, finishing as the second winningest pitcher in Farmington softball history with a 61-9 record. She struck out 437 batters in 423 innings while maintaining a remarkable 1.62 ERA. Her performance earned her All-Conference honors in 2010, 2011, and 2012, as well as back-to-back All-State selections in 2011 and 2012. The highlight of her high school career came in 2011 when she led the Cardinals to a State Championship and was named State Tournament MVP. She also represented Farmington in the Junior Classic Showcase in 2011 and the All-Star Softball Game in 2012.
Madison was equally accomplished in golf, qualifying for the state tournament in 2010 and placing 13th out of 64 competitors.
She continued her softball career at Crowder College (2012–2013) and later at Evangel University (2014–2017), where she capped her career by being named an NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete during the 2016–2017 academic year.
